We took Dexter to the ocean a few days ago for some fetch. We didn't want to drive all the way to Waihi beach so we went to
Omokoroa point instead. This beach is on Tauranga Harbour instead of the open ocean, so there were no waves and a shallow low tide beach. Dexter didn't get to swim but he still got a good workout bounding through the water to fetch his ball!

Some sort of heron I would guess. But yes a bird book would be necessary for me!
