Today we drove up the coast to Cape Tribulation. It was a beautiful drive through the rainforest, and included a ferry crossing over the Daintree river. What a great day to spend our last day in Australia!
Crossing the Daintree river
Looking out over the rainforest
These (green / weaver) ants were EVERYWHERE
Learning about the rainforest
Cockroach, ewwww!
More rainforest!
Watch out for the stranger fig (if you are a tree)
Despite many signs like this, we never saw a cassowary :(
On the plus side, that also means we didn't hit one with the car
Pretty!
WHEN JELLYFISH ATTACK
Ryan found some coral
These weird patterns were all over the beach. They were made by many little balls of sand
We finally spotted the tiny crabs that were depositing the sand out of holes they dug. So cool!

Sugar cane!

Looks like ryan got himself an "aussie" hat! Love it! Glad you didn't see smucked cassowaries!
ReplyDeleteYup, it's made from kangaroo leather!
