Wellington, take two

Our second and probably last visit to Wellington was as good as the first! We had sunny weather so we spent a day exploring the Wellington Botanic Gardens. It's starting into autumn here, so not everything was in bloom. But we still got to see lots of lovely flowers! Dexter enjoyed the walk too :)

We skipped the cable car ride, but did stop into the cable car museum. It was cool to read about the history of the cable car from transportation to tourism. We also visited the Carter Observatory where we got an excellent tour of the southern hemisphere night sky, and learned about other cool spacey stuff too!

Of course we had to take Ryan to the Te Papa museum, and managed to mostly see the rest of the exhibits (or at least scan them). Still amazed to have such a high quality experience for no cost :) For lunch we went to the nearby Macs Brewbar - yum! An interesting Wellington law: on Easter Sunday liquor can't be served unless it is accompanying a meal. Good thing we were having lunch! The holiday definitely impacted our trip... almost all the stores and resturants near our hotel were closed for Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Good thing McDonalds and Hell Pizza (lol, of course) was open!
