Our time on the north island is at an end (apart from a probable rushed drive up to Auckland before returning home in a few months). We are sad to see it go, but are even more excited to begin exploring the south island! The journey across the Cook Strait was overall a pretty standard ferry ride, but we did get some fantastic views entering the Marlborough Sounds.
We took the scenic route from Picton to Nelson: the Queen Charlotte Drive along the coast. Fun driving adventure for Binney full of people of luggage, haha. Lots more amazing views, though we didn't stop for many pictures due to the mildly perilous road conditions.
