Quiz Night at The Whaler

We finally made it to Quiz Night at our favourite local pub (The Whaler). It consisted of 4 rounds of trivia, ranging from sports to identifying pictures or cartoons characters. There were also a couple drinking games for tie-breakers, which we weren't involved in since we were almost dead last....

In our defence, we were only a team of 2 instead of 4 or 5 like the other teams! Also there were some debatable right answers...(*sour grapes*).

Here's some of the questions, see how well you can do:
  • Which country has the longest coastline? Answer We got this one right!
  • Which country had the largest population in 2010. Answer We got this one right too!
  • Which country is the Mambo from? Answer Got this one wrong, guess I need to watch more Dancing with the Stars
  • In which country would you be greeted with "Bula Vinaka"? Answer Also got this one wrong :(
  • What is the capital of Australia? Answer This was an uber fail for us
  • What is the longest running non-motorized sporting event? Answer Should have gotten this one too!
  • Which part of the body is the skin the thinnest? This answer is a bit debatable...
  • Which animal do humans share DNA with, cat or dog? Despite our correct answer of "both", apparently they were looking for "dog"
  • What does the computer term RAM stand for? Answer finally a question up our alley!

There's a taste for you, I'm too lazy to write the rest (and can't remember them all)

Team Dexter is second last, wooo!

  1. Those are hard questions! Does everybody use their smart phones?! Pretty clever people in your part of the world!!

  2. We assumed that they weren't allowed and I didn't notice anybody with phones out. Then again, many people here don't seem to have smart phones, so maybe the teams that had them were using them! Oh well, we play fair :) If we were allowed I hope we would have done much much better!
